"Viti e braccio VII" Lavinia Prota | Limited ed. print 1 of 10
"Viti e braccio" is born from the aristocratic grace of a twig of withered leaves picked along the edge of a sidewalk in Naples, and it is this that weaves the rest, together with the afternoon light of the city and a cracked wall. The immobile and ethereal balances that derive from flaunting the branch on hands and arms bring me to certain still life paintings made of religious silences, and the darkening of the leaves and the light in the shadows of the flesh to a hieratic Caravaggio velvet. The whole thing seems antiqued.
